Taking the kids to the warehouse

Dave Mirra's got two lovely daughters and it was time for them to go ride at the Animal House. While 15 months old Mackenzie put on her helmet to take her 4-wheeler for a spin, 2-year old Madison got her Mirraco Apprentice 12R dialled in for some ramp action. With dad Dave as a mentor you know it won't be long before they're jumping in that foampit.

In case BMX freestyle makes it to the Olympics, a girls class will be added. The Mirra family is ready for it.

Harry Main on a new ride...

UK's Harry Main is on a new frame (pictured above) which he is testing right now. Instead of having someone take a photo of it and publish it on the web, we thought we'd be the first ones. Catch Harry riding at Woodward East, or maybe Greenville, the JomoPro comp, or the Not so Metro Jam in Canada.

The frame has changed colour already; from satin white to black. With a few green bits and some Monster stickers added to it, the bike is looking badass (as Harry explained it). More on the frame in a few months from now.......

Florida's Dave Rytell has got a bike check up in the new BMX Plus! magazine. His Mirraco Wallstreet bike is listed part by part in the April 2009 issue on pages 40-41. Dave doesn't have any modifications made to his bike, goes through grips the most and his headset is the oldest part on his bike. To see what parts he runs, go find a copy of the mag.

Aussie photoshoot

It has been incredibly hot over in Australia but when Mirraco's Sean Hargraves flew over to shoot some photos of Andrew Buckworth and Ryan Guettler he did not see much else than rain. This made him decided to fly to Guettler's territory and have Andrew Buckworth do the same.

The result is some good photos for future ads. Here is a photo of new Mirraco member Andy. Upside down, no hands, click!

Nigel goes NBA?

Nigel Sylvester ends up in places all over. He recently showed up in a clip from an NBA party. Looked like he was the only BMX-er there but with the treatment they had for their guests (drinks, games, food, music, girls) it would be hard not to have a good time.

By his sponsor Gatorade in case you missed that part.

Buckworth playing Air Guitar?

Andy Buckworth can't stop playing Guitar Hero. Even when he's bailing out on a box jump he thinks he's live on stage rocking the electric guitar in front of a sold out stadium. All eyes were on him though when he ditched his Black Pearl mid-air at the BMX Games. A sore heel was the result. More time to play Guitar Hero.

3-triple and triple bars with Alessandro Barbero

Alessandro Barbero has had time to think over the period that he could not ride because of his ankle injury. He has been visualizing some tricks that have been playing with his head. During a session in Emmering, Germany things clicked and you know the feeling when you pull a trick for the first time. Stoked!

Brendan Burns meets Dave Mirra.

A thank you letter form the Sunshine Foundation:

Dear Dave,

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God...!" Brendan Burns, 10, diagnosed with severe hemophilia A, as he watched Dave Mirra walk over to personally meet him on 1/19/09.

What a day for Brendan! Normally, his diagnosis allows him to only sit and watch his friends and play and try to do tricks on their bikes "like Dave Mirra". But January 19th was different - Brendan not only got to ride bikes, he was personally accompanied and instructed by Dave Mirra himself!

I cannot thank you enough for not only taking time to say hello, but to so graciously extend yourself - spending the entire day riding bikes, doing tricks, hanging out for lunch, and welcoming Brendan into your circle of BMX buddies for the day! Your patience and words of encouragement in helping Brendan to master the ramp was something Brendan's mom, Lindsay, acknowledges appreciatively. She was just in awe, watching her little boy's spirits being lifted by his favorite athlete - stating that Brendan truly admires you and what you do. To be a part of your world that day was something that will stay with Brendan forever as he faces his diagnosis with a renewed strength and determination to keep smiling no matter what!

With respect and warm regards,

Nicci Yu

Here's the video of it.

Barbero clip (riding his home park)

Here's a clip entitled "One Day in Priero" which basically shows Alessandro Barbero riding his own spot in Italy. It wasn't filmed recently because the outdoor park is under heavy snow at the moment and Alessandro is recovering from an operation where they took out some screws from his ankle. The Italian has a solution though: Camp Woodward. It won't be long until you see him there.
