2nd place in Best Trick for Harry in Germany

It was a rough time to get out of the East Coast last weekend. Irene was messing things up. After changing a couple of flights Harry Main made it to Germany in time for the Playgrounds Miniramp invitational contest. Unfortunately his bike, pads and gear did not show up and with all flights being cancelled for the next day, it wasn't going to get there either. Harry sat out the contest but borrowed some shoes, some pads, a helmet and a bike to join the ten minute Best Trick contest. He was on the bike for less than a minute in total but still got 2nd place for the flair drop-in that he did on someone else's bike an a ramp that he had not touched before. Only Harry.

Bike Check with Harry Main. Bike Lost.

Harry Main flew over to the Telekom Playgrounds in Germany over the weekend but could not compete because the airplines lost his bike. It's a shame because Harry was stoked on the bike and of course he could not compete in the comp the way he wanted to. To show the authorities what his bike looks like, he can just show them the video that VitalBMX put together.

Hopefully he'll get it back.

An update by Kyle Baldock

It all started at Ocean City nearly a month ago, the pressure to make it through open qualifier for 2011 was playing on my mind, to then come out and win the first stop of Ocean City, I was speechless as you all would know haha. After the cameras where off & I had a spare minute to let it sink that I just achieved a life time goal I honestly wouldn't have gotten this far without my girlfriend, friends and family but of course to all my sponsors and my fans.

After Ocean City I was back in North Carolina for one day. I then flew to LA for my first ever X-games. My girlfriend and I were bummed that we didn't have enough time to sight see, but from what I saw LA is an amazing place to be. The course at X-games wasn't a course I would normally ride, but you learn to adapt to what you're given to ride and to make the most of this. I ended up missing out on finals but I was so stoked that I made it to semis after my first invite.

After X-games we then flew to Orange County, where Guettler, my girlfriend and I stayed with Pat Casey and his family. We played in the pool, shot some hoops and of course couldn't leave without riding his backyard ramp. They are such an awesome family, we had so much fun.

The ASA contest was held at the Orange County Fair. ASA is a fun contest to just chill and have fun, by this time I was so tired after all these contests. When we were in LA we were luckily enough to go behind the scenes and have a day each at the Monster warehouse, Vans Warehouse and also Unit's warehouse. It was great to see how everything works behind doors, they have a great team of people, it was so much fun!

The Nike 6.0 contest was also on at Huntington Beach. We were able to head down and check it out.

We then were yet again at another airport where we were heading to the next stop of Dew Tour in Portland. Portland stop for me was a big one, had Both Park and dirt to compete in even though I don't normally ride dirt. I thought it would be a great stress reliever to take the pressure off park. I ended up taking 2nd place in dirt which was more than I expected & also 2nd in Park. The park course was awesome. Dennis Enarson did a great job of designing the course.

I'm really happy of how I've been riding, this year has become a really big year for me. I had a few days rest back in NC then I was off the weekend to the King of the Mountain Dirt comp in UTAH. This was a chilled weekend, hanging out with some of my boys and riding. There was some big tricks and Bigger Crashes had by all. I ended up pulling my first ever Frontie tuck to bar which crowned me King of the Mountain haha.

Thanks to Monster Engergy for the great weekend. I honestly couldn't be where I am now without my sponsors so I want to give a shout out to Unit, Vans, Monster and Mirraco for letting me live the dream. Now it's time to get practicing for Salt Lake City. Till next time. Peace out!

Kyle and Harry edit from Romford. By Lloyd Ramsay

A clip made by Lloyd Ramsay of Kyle Baldock and Harry Main while they were in London, England for the Pool comp. With plenty of concrete around, Kyle and Harry opted for the wooden spine mini.

Kyle and Harry at Romford from lloyd ramsay

Video description:
During practice at The Pool event I headed off in the van with the MirraCo guys to Romford skatepark for their photoshoot. I recognized the park right away from videos and I believe its one of the oldest in the UK. The other guy on the ramp is Alex Coleborn and Catfish also tagged along riding behind us. I remember the guy behind the desk being as rough as some of the park surface and moaned about never getting photos of the park. I offered to take some for him on the house and got out my iPhone to write down his email address. He had no email address.
There were very little rushes to work with here since my camera battery ran out of charge only a few shots in. I would keep flicking the power switch off to try conserve energy. Kyle had probably been riding for 2 days solid already but kept charging at the spine. When we got back to The Pool he rode again till they closed the place and was down to go out and film at night. Energy!

Everything was shot on my Canon 550d, cut in FCP and the track was composed by myself in Soundtrack Pro. All motion graphics were done in After Effects.

Chance Brejnakowski Web Video

When Harry Main went to Australia a few months ago, he ended up riding with Chance Brejnakowski a fair bit. Then Chance flew over to the UK to visit Harry. Luckily he brought a video camera and filmed everything on his way. Chance is riding a Mirraco bike, and no, Harry isn't the stunt double in any of these clips.

A short little video Greg Phillips and myself put together from my trip to the uk.
Most of the footage was shot at The GoldCoast Compound in Australia, while a section of it was in England

4th for Mirra in X-Games RallyCross

Dave Mirra was so close to his 25th X-Games medal but he will have to wait till next year to make it happen. Here's a Rally Cross report from the Monster Energy crew about Dave's race:

Monster Energy X Games RallyCross Recap. The streets of downtown Los Angeles were once again host to X Games 17’s RallyCross with Monster Energy’s Dave Mirra, Liam Doran, and Ken Block all looking for X Games Gold.

Mirra would qualify from the second round after recovering from a dead last start to take the win and advance to the final. Mirra’s diverse background as an action sports athlete has set him up as the most successful X Games competitor with a total of 24 medals.

In the final Dave Mirra, starting from the second row, had his work cut out for him going into the eight-man, eight-lap final. Dave had a decent start sitting mid pack and slowly started picking off drivers.

At the half-way point Mirra had made his way into third and was sitting pretty for a medal but moments later disaster struck and Mirra lost traction coming into the dirt section just past the first corner. Dave would spin out, losing two positions and ending his hopes at what would have been his 25^th X Games medal.

Results X Games 17: RallyCross Final
Rank Driver_
Gold Brian Deegan
Silver Tanner Foust
Bronze Marcus Gronholm
4th Dave Mirra
