They're actually two separate pages but for the heck of it they're glued together for a post on the Mirraco site to show you the new NIKE 6.0 ads that they did with Nigel Sylvester. That's 2 more pages of Nigel in RIDEBMX this month. Sweet.
Austin Coleman is a shredder. Not only at any park course, but on the vert ramp too. Austin lives in North Carolina, close enough to Dave Mirra for him to see that he was worthy a Mirraco frame. Austin's pick: The Blend.
RIDEBMX asked Mr. Coleman some questions about his ride:
I've been super busy and it's about to get real crazy. I'm at X-games right now. The course is amazing, I can't wait.
Yesterday was a big day for me. It was the HB Nike 6.0 comp where I came away with 1st place. I'm so pumped! I really liked the course and the beach vibe and everything fell into place. Check out the video on ridebmx.com, it shows the 95.5 point run.
This week I'm also doing an ASA box jump comp which I already won one of early this year so I'll keep you posted on how everything goes this week.
On other news I just got twitter.com and facebook.com so come add me and follow what I'm up to. Also check out Colony because there's a sample of my new 2010 bars and forks on the site.
Nigel Sylvester has been receiving some good love from his sponsor Gatorade lately. He did a little coast to coast Gatorade "Because I Grind" tour visiting some Mirraco dealers, threw a party and had Biz Markie on the decks, and also got the new ad which just showed up in the new BMX Plus! as well as RIDE BMX mags. In case you are wondering, it's an over 50-50 to crooked grind and yes that's the shop window of Format he is cleaning in the photo.
Three days of riding happened before the ten best riders made it to the finals on Sunday at the Nike 6.0 contest on the beach in Huntington Beach, California. The event was held during the US Open of Surfing which meant that the stands were full of people that happened to hang out at the beach. The scene so to say was good and the riding on the course was awesome as well.
In the finals Ryan Guettler pulled out all stops and won the comp, followed by Daniel Dhers and an impressive Andy Buckworth (3rd). A great weekend for the Mirraco riders. With the ASA Big Air Triples this week and the X-Games coming up this weekend we will see if it's possible for them to score another podium. Add Dave Mirra in the mix at the X-Games to better the chances of bringing home a medal. We'll keep you posted.

Andy Buckworth is turning heads on the BMX scene. The young Australian was added to the Mirraco team earlier in the year and got to do a photoshoot with Ryan Guettler back in Australia.
Then he flew over to Woodward Camp to get some riding done with everybody who lives up there. Next up was a trip to France for the FISE and another photo shoot.
The results of these photo sessions can be found in the new Mirraco inside cover spread in RIDE BMX magazine that just came out. But Andy hasn't stopped turning heads. Keep an eye out for that Aussie.
Fuel TV is getting you STOKED for this upcoming weekend's 2009 Summer X Games with a killer show. He's the most decorated X Games athlete; pro BMX rider and Rally car racer, Dave Mirra is on the Habit.
The 6.0 HB BMX PRO contest that is taking place in Huntington Beach, California has kicked off. On day one (with three to follow) Mirraco riders Ryan Guettler and Andrew Buckworth finished up there in the top five.

If you fancy scrolling through party pics we have a new link for you of Nigel Sylvester's "Because I Grind" party that was held last Thursday at Hermosa Beach in California.
Dave Mirra will be a busy man once again at the upcoming X-Games. Not only will Dave enter the BMX Park competition and also BMX Big Air, he will enter the Rally race in LA as well.
He will have to work out his practice schedule accordingly to get used to all these different terrains. Will he once again come home with some medals? Time will tell.
Ryan Guettler has been invited to ride BMX Park and also Harry Main got a spot but since he broke his ankle a couple of weeks ago he had to give up his spot to another rider. We'll keep you informed here on www.mirrabikeco.com.
German Guettler fans are out of luck this weekend as Ryan has changed plans and won't be riding the big jumps in Munich but you can see him on the Beach in HB instead.
Not that he will be chillin' in the sun, there's a BMX contest going on during the US Open of Surfing event. In the days after the event Ryan plans on riding the ASA Big Air Triples event at the State Fair in Costa Mesa and will then proceed to the X-Games for practice and the SuperPark comp.
It's always nice to get a cover. When it happens on your first trip to Europe that's a bonus. It's fine if it's a cover of a French BMX magazine too so you won't hear Andy Buckworth complain one bit. Actually, the French photographers had this spot in mind for a flair but up until Andy showed up, nobody had done it. It didn't take him long and he whipped a few out for everyone to get their angle. That's what's up!
The mag has a little Mirraco Trip report too with cool pics. Contact Cream to get your copy.
Maxime Charveron is on a trip in Estonia somewhere probably being goofy as usual. Before that he did manage to shoot a new Nike 6.0 advertisement where he 180-bars off a decent set of stairs somewhere in France. This ad was placed on the inside cover spread of the new Cream.
Harry Main broke his leg and it couldn't have come at a worse time as he missed the World's in Germany and also will be out for the HB NIKE contest, the X-Games and a few rounds of the Dew Tour. But he has been operated upon and it's all uphill from here. 6-8 weeks before he is allowed to ride again. The folks at Vital did an injury update with him on their site.
If you've only got one hour to film a clip you know that it's on from the start. The Vital crew filmed Andrew Buckworth at Woodward camp for one hour and this is the result:
Last night Nigel Sylvester threw a party at the Spit Studio in Hermosa Beach, California to celebrate the wrap-up of his “Because I Grind” Tour, and kick-off of his upcoming mixtape collaboration with hip hop producer The Alchemist. The party featured special guest DJs, food by Green Truck, open bar and great company!
Straight after the 2009 World's in Germany Alessandro Barbero was on his way to France for another stop of the FISE Experience tour. The end prize in BMX is a brand new Fiat car and Alessandro has his mind set on that vehicle. He is well on his way by raking up another win in Avoriaz.
Thought you might be interested in these pix. The 18" Mirraco Black Pearl is still ripping! Pix from a 9.00am session this morning at Orange Skatepark. Temp is 6C! Showers and sleet forecast for the next few days so it was early or nothing for a few days!
The new issue of Desillusion magazine came out. The French "core sports" and fashion magazine has a double page spread featuring Dave Mirra (page 80-81) doing a bike flip on his Blend Ltd.
Nigel is doing a tour for Gatorade and they are stopping at 2 Mirraco dealers this weekend. We asked him some questions about this tour:
Hey Nigel, next to doing a shop, riding comps, doing photo shoots and more, you are now doing a Bike Shop Tour. How did this one come about?
Well I really wanted to do a tour where I can touch and connect with people who are into bmx on a more personal level. I approached Gatorade with the idea, they seemed siked and decided to back this project. The name of the tour is "Because I Grind" and it stands for two things, obviously I grind on my bike but also the grind and work I put into every aspect of my life.
Are you going to present at all these stops yourself to ride?
No, I did the ATL and Miami stops with Mark Gralla aka ratkid and Dave Belcher. As I move towards the west for the Vegas and Cali stops I'm going to link up with E-man and Boy.
It looks like you're going coast to coast with this one?
Yeah I really want this tour to reach as far as possible. I feel the more people I can reach the better.
What's the plan, can people join in on the Demo Session? Are you going to hit the streets?
At each stop of course people can join the demo I really want to experience each scene and connect with the people. Of course I'll be hitting some street in each city.
Not only did Mirraco distributors Christian Kohler and Jann Rosskamp get some coverage in the latest issue of FREEDOM BMX, Andy Buckworth and Ryan Guettler scored some press too in the same issue. Andy must be stoked on his backcover Mirraco ad too. Thanks to Freedom for the press and La Finca for the promotion. Now that Harry Main has broken his leg, the riding will have to come from Maxime Charveron, Alessandro Barbero and Ryan Guettler this weekend at the IBMXFF World's in Cologne. Stay tuned for updates on that event.
Not the news we like to post here but Harry Main has broken his leg while filming for Nike 6.0 over in Germany. This means he'll be definitely out for the IBMXFF World Championships in Cologne this weekend and most likely a Dew Tour stop and the X-Games as well.
Make it a double please! Alessandro Barbero adds one on some of the tricks he shows in his latest web clip. After watching the video, take a look at his new website: www.alessandrobarbero.it
