Nigel Plus!

Gatorade has taken over the inside cover spead of BMX Plus! magazine, at least for their August 2010 issue. They got a photo of Nigel Sylvester doing a smith grind to barspin off this green container coming off of that loading dock on your right. "Go All Day" well, yeah probably. It's what Nigel needs to do to fit everything into one day.

In Tokyo with Nigel Sylvester

Last month, one of New York’s most notable BMX riders Nigel Sylvester took a trip across the world to Tokyo as part of a Gatorade-sponsored event. Hoping to get some solid riding in throughout some unfamiliar landscapes, unfortunately Mother Nature was largely un-cooperative. We still managed to catch up with Nigel to gain a better insight into the parallels between Tokyo and New York City, his everyday routine and his goals and aspirations.

Afternoon Episode - Nigel Sylvester and Gatorade Go All Day

The Afternoon clip featuring Nigel Sylvester in NYC on his Chocolate.

The final video in Nigel Sylvester’s three-part series completes the story of Nigel’s day, by showing what went down that afternoon.

After a brief encounter with hip-hop artist Teyana Taylor, Nigel sets out on a citywide mission to see the young star again. Following her taxi throughout NYC is no easy task, but Nigel manages to keep up, avoiding close calls along the way including a run-in with football star LaDainian “LT” Tomlinson.

This unique three part video series was conceptualized and written by Nigel and Glenn PP Milligan, with support from Gatorade. Shout out to Nigel’s friends who appeared in the video and to DONNIS, for providing music and making a cameo.

To see the rest of Nigel’s day check out his morning and night videos at: YouTube.com/BMXGatorade. Keep an eye out for the behind the scenes “making of” video, to be released soon…

With each episode of Gatorade's Go All Day with Nigel Sylvester, one lucky Vital BMX member is going to win this awesome prize pack from Nigel's sponsors including Mirra Bike Co.

Mirraco bikes being built

A few weeks ago we stopped by at one of our factories in the east to see how things were going. A few pictures were taken and shared here to see how Mirraco bikes are being made. From raw pipes of steel to the welders, to the painter, to the people who put the decals on, to the assembly machines that put the parts on and the packaging on the belt. It's a long process where everything needs to be done right so you can enjoy your ride.

Austin Coleman gets Canvas on the podium twice at Asian X Games

Last weekend the Asian X-Games took place in Shanghai, China. Although no official Mirraco team riders were present we had a Mirraco Canvas frame on the podium twice. Austin Coleman has been receiving Mirraco frames as a form of support and he's taking his riding to the next level. Coleman finished third in Pro Vert on Thursday and backed it up with another bronze on Sunday in the Mini-Mega event. He was the only rider to step on the podium two times. Congrats to Austin.

Nigel Sylvester and Gatorade Go All Day

Nigel Sylvester teamed up with Gatorade to release the first video in a series that shows his unique life as a pro BMX rider. The video is one of three to be released – all of which were conceptualized and written by Nigel and Glenn PP Milligan. The videos show just how crazy Nigel’s life is on and off a bike, and has a cool storyline woven throughout the three videos.

This first video, "The Night Episode," shows Nigel as he cruises the streets of New York City after dark, with fellow riders Ralphy Ramos, Tyrone Williams and Ralphy Bury, and follows them from bike to boutique to bar.

See how Nigel’s “dusk ‘til dawn” story continues through the next edits, to be released soon.

New colors for Al D's Mirraco bike.

I thought I'd share my project with ya's...I don't have sand blasters and I never have, but this took a lot of time to swap the paint from black to white, and strip paint off most parts, and spray the frame clean. The only thing that is not two years old on this bike is the rims...everything on it used to be black if u can picture it. lol!

Hope u like it :) It weighs like 19 lbs. and is super fun.

Mirra co. blend 20.75 V2 prototype.

Big Earl's Bike Shop, only 20 minutes from Woodward East.

Owned by Earl Rissler, Big Earl's Bike Shop is located in Mifflinburg, PA.

They are proud to be a Mirraco dealer and have supported us from the beginning. In addition to the huge selection of Black Label parts, Big Earl’s also offers BMX hard-goods and parts from other various companies and they have a great selection of complete bikes.

The shop is just a 20 minute drive from Woodward Camp. Everyone who visits should make the trip out to see the shop and stock up on supplies.

It’s always good to support the shops that support BMX.
