Harry Main and Maxime Charveron at the VU

Maxime Charveron and Harry Main are in this Nike clip from the Vibrations Urbaines that took place in Pessac, France a couple of weeks ago. Both riders end the clip and Maxime is the rider who knocks down a filmer with a tailwhip over the hip. Funny stuff. Harry won, Maxime got second.

Greetings from Tahiti, by Ryan Guettler

Ryan Guettler left America on the 11th of December and arrived in sunny Tahiti to do a demo before going home to Australia....Ryan: "I'm in Tahiti for a week and only have to do a 20 min demo on Saturday night. Pretty sweet. Been here 4 days and already done so much. Found the local trails on the first day so me and Josh Boatright have been riding them every day. We both got local tats from a guy in a shack on the beach. I got a shark on the foot and Josh got a bird on his arm, pretty funny. Been swimming and kayaking every day. Straight sun burnt all over haha. Today we are meant to go shark feeding so I'll take more photos..."

Stay tuned for more from Tahiti

Nigel makes appearance on Big Big BMX show # 3

BMX news in a nutshell, that's what the Big Big BMX Show is all about. Nigel Sylvester was in California and made an appearance on the show. Watch episode number three right here:

Winners Mirraco/Nike competition announced

To promote the NIKE Writing On The Wall video FATBMX.com and DIGBMX.com both had an online competition going on where you could win a Mirraco frame and a pair of NIKE shoes. FATBMX had Nigel Sylvester's video part online exclusively and gave away a Chocolate frame and a pair of Nike Mavrk shoes which are Nigel's favorite shoes to ride in. Mike Spinner's video part could be watched exclusively on DIGBMX.com and they gave away a pair of shoes and a Mirraco Black Pearl Lite frame.

The correct answer in the Nigel competition was: Feel Mee!! and Chris Doherty from Upstate New York won the package. The DIGBMX winner, and going home with a pair of shoes and a Black Pearl frame, is David Andries from Antwerp, Belgium.

Both prize winners should be receiving their frames and shoes in the next few days. Thanks to everyone who participated. If you did not win this time, better luck at the next competition, whenever that may be.

Frank Kreyssig on a Blend 16

Big guys riding little kids' bikes is how BMX can be explained to people who do not have a clue what BMX riding is all about. That applies even more when big guys are riding bikes with 16 inch wheels. Stephen Nisbett of Double Dub Bike filmed and edited this video of Frank Kreyssig riding a Blend 16 at the local park. And yes, he is doing some gnarly tricks on that bike.

Early Christmas for Ryan & Caine Sheckler

Everyone knows Ryan Sheckler, right? Well, earlier this week Ryan and his younger brother Caine came by the office to pick up their bikes. Last year I gave Caine a Mirraco Project 16 . He was so stoked on it and ever since then Ryan has always wanted a bike. So, Caine out grew the 16 and we stepped him up to the project 18 this year for Christmas. I figured since we’re giving Caine a new bike, why not Ryan. Seriously, Ryan really wanted a Black Pearl so this just seemed like the perfect time. Check out the pic of the Sheckler bros.

Happy holidays.

International events postponed

Next week three Mirraco riders were scheduled to do some international traveling but the events got postponed so the riders will be spending some more time at their home base.

The Dubai X-Games event was pushed back to February or even April so Dave Mirra has some more time to hit that vert ramp.

The Indonesia BMX Battle in Jakarta has received so much rain in the last few days that the outdoor part has been cancelled leaving Dave Rytell and Alessandro Barbero home (for now). The event has been postponed until spring/summer of 2009.

Mike Spinner and Ryan Guettler have packed their bags to go to Tahiti though.........

FEEL MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watch the following clip with Nigel Sylvester doing some NIKE photoshoot. Not too many tricks going on in this video but you get to see how shooting photos for the catalog and billboard works.

Welcome Harry Main

We would like to welcome Harry Main to the Mirraco family. The UK based rider signed a deal with Mirraco in England that will have him ride for Dave Mirra's company for at least the next 13 months. Harry has big plans for 2009 and we will keep you in the loop right here on the www.mirrabikeco.com website.

The folks over at RIDE UK did a little Q&A on Harry Main on their website and also linked to Harry's latest web movie. If you have not seen it yet, GO HERE.

Mike Spinner in Cali update

So I arrived in Cali on Thursday with my friends from Miami FL. We all flew in at the same time, grabbed a sweet rental car and then we were off to go to the Mirraco Offices and Wasserman Media to meet up with some peeps, say hi and get some dinner. The next day we took the hour and half drive to the Monster Office which was wild. It is just huge then I went to pick some swag up, but we had to go to a warehouse right next to the building. It is insane how things work at Monster, everybody is so awesome !

Then the next day was going be a long day. We woke up early, got to Dennis' house where I did like 30 minutes of stuff with Fuel TV. I'm not really sure what they are doing, but they are going to have a whole segment on the video. It's gonna be sick. Then Nigel Sylvester and I did an interview with Will Stroud he was filming for Nike. The More I get to know Nigel, the more cool I think he is. Such a nice guy.

Then the Banksgiving at Dennis' house was off the hook. Everybody was riding, it was nuts. I was just watching everybody destroy Dennis' place. My friends and I took off and we had a few hours to clean up and stuff before the video premiere. At about 7:15pm we took a cab to the Premiere which was INSANE! There was a line of over a few hundred people. We all cut the line ha ha ha. Did a bunch of picture stuff, and noticed my other good friends from FL were there. We got some sweet pictures. Then we all went inside it was AMAZING!

Once again Nike 6.0 tops everything. They did an amazing job setting everything up. I was real excited to watch the video with everybody there. Everybody's part was amazing and when it ended a lot of people came up to me congratulating me so I was super Pumped! And somebody I'm really stoked on, Scotty Cramner, came up to me and said it was sick. I still look up to him as an amazing rider so that meant a lot to me.

The next day I flew Home. I'm In FL for a few days then I'm doing a road trip with my friend. I will keep you guys posted!

BMX PLUS! magazine Rider of the year election

The January 2009 issue of BMX Plus! has an official RIDER OF THE YEAR ballot in there. You can vote for you favorite rider of the year. So if that happens to be Dave Mirra, Mike Spinner, Ryan Guettler, Mike Laird, Nigel Sylvester, Dave Rytell or anybody else on a Mirraco bike, put their name down on the ballot and win yourself a bike in the process.

Thanks a lot for the support.
