Andy Buckworth and Chris Hughes transfer to the main program.

Ryan Guettler in Zwanzig Zoll magazine

Life isn't always what it seems to be. Being on top level you do get invitations to ride at several events, some are even abroad. But how fun is it to take your bike apart, arrange a ride to the airport, sit there for a few hours, deal with checking in your bike and then sit on that seat for hours and hours straight to get to the event. With a bit of luck your bike arrives and you hope you'll find your driver who will take you to the hotel which does not seem to have air conditioning and very slow internet that you have to pay for. You're tired, but practice starts in 2 hours. You still have to put your bike together but all you want to do is sleep. When the shuttle picks you up you start feeling like a zombie. You don't know where you are, you don't know what day it is and you keep checking on your watch what time it is and then try to figure out the time difference. Let's not start about the food. It's too different from your own fridge or favourite restaurants at home. But you got to get through this, because the organiser or sponsor paid for your trip and you don't want to let them down.

But friends show up and the session kicks off. You're forgetting about all the trouble and are having fun all over a sudden, your bike gets you through this. In the end you do the tricks you wanted to do, you make finals, and you pick up a check. You party the night away before taking apart that bike and put it in the bag to do the same again from start to finish. Shuttle to the airport, wait in line, long flight, changing planes, finding your ride home and get to bed.

Ryan Guettler flew over to Germany for a weekend and had to go through all this to make it happen. He picked up the second place check and got a full page picture in Zwanzig Zollmag as well. Thanks to all the Mirraco riders for putting their work in promoting the brand. We understand it isn't as easy as it sounds.

Harry Main Nike 6.0 ad

Harry Main is doing physical therapy at the moment to get back on his bike in full swing. Injuries have been a part of Harry's life unfortunately but as we all know, it's part of the game. Harry had to sit out some bigger contests because of it but has some events lined up that he wants to be a part of. Good motivation for sure.

In the meantime he got this new Nike 6.0 advertisement in the July/August issue of DIGBMX. Double page spread in Australia last year doing a 450 invert over the hip. Get well Harry.

Rain in Barcelona?

It never rains in Southern California, right? Well, noone saw the rain coming in Barcelona either on the final day of the Nike 6.0 BMX Pro event. After four more riders qualified for the finals in the early afternoon, the finalists kicked off the comp at 6pm right after the Best Trick contest. 2 groups of 4 riders later a little rain started which made the course wet. After plenty of waiting around the ramps did not dry up enough to finish the competition. Alessandro Barbero had ridden already but got stuck at 12th place because he got 12th in qualifying. Who would have thought the finals were going to be rained out. Just noone. It's off to the first round of the Dew Tour for Barbero now. Good luck bro.

Here's what Ryan Guettler's been up to.

Hey guys.

Yesterday we arrived to Woodward camp to get our shred on. I've been riding a lot in Greenville and needed a change of ramps just to get more ready for Dew Tour next month.
Before I came to Woodward we built a new ramp in my backyard and filmed a small edit so keep and eye out for that one. Since being at Woodward it's been really fun. Last night we did a demo for the kids and Jamie Bestwick on the mic talking crap on all of us, it was a good time. I've mostly been riding the dirt jumps and watching Andy Buckworth show me why he's running camp right now, he's killing it! I'm also here to get photos for my sponsors and film some clips for Colony.

Talk soon.

Ryan
