New movie about Greenville. Involves Mirraco riders.

How did a small town in the middle of nowhere become one of the most important places in the world for BMX?

Greenville, North Carolina appears to be a typical small town, but over the past 15 years it’s become Mecca for competitive BMX. With 34 professional riders, 21 X Games gold medals, and countless other contest wins, Greenville has produced more top BMX-talent than any city in the world. All in a remote town tucked away on the East Coast.

“Pro Town: Greenville” completely illustrates what makes Greenville tick. From the arrival of BMX icon Dave Mirra in 1994, the movie describes how the town grew into a BMX powerhouse. The 45-minute movie is packed with incredible footage and photographs (both current and archival), plus revealing interviews with Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, Colin Mackay, Ryan Guettler, Rob Darden, Allan Cooke, Josh Harrington, and many more.

Watch for the exclusive "Pro Town: Greenville" trailer on RideBMX.com on Monday, November 29th.

"Pro Town: Greenville" will premiere in January 2011. For more information, please email info@protownmovie.com. Keep an eye on facebook.com/ProTownMovie for more updates.

Harry Main interview. Back on the bike.

Mirraco rider Harry Main has been off the bike for too long. This injury took longer than expected but Harry is so stoked on the green light that his doctor gave him that it's back to his normal life from now on. And that includes tons of riding.

Harry is going to sit out next week's high level comp in Berlin, Germany but will still be there representing the Monster Army. Other Mirraco riders in Berlin next week are Alessandro Barbero and Austin Coleman.

Guettler shoots clip for ESPN with Hughes and Buckworth in it.

The weather in Greenville was not that great for a few days. So we got a few guys together (Andy Buckworth, Chris Hughes, Jaie Toohey, and Vince Byron) and traveled to the Raleigh/Durham Triangle area of N.C. for the afternoon. The weather was great, as was the riding. It goes to show, if the weather is getting bad, you can always get in a car and go find the sun.

NC state fair shows

Keith King has organised many, many BMX freestyle shows. His stunt shows are held at places that normally don't get to see too many flips and tricks. It gets people interested in the sport or at least it entertains the crowd at the specific events. Mike laird and Chris Hughes have done tons of shows for Keith King. Here's a clip that Sam Ward made that has Chris Hughes in it.

An update from Mirraco's Kyle Baldock

I am currently packing to leave to Sydney tomorrow morning for a JC demo in Broken Hill. Then the following weekend I am off to Sydney to compete in the X-sport games. I'm missing Greenville but luckily the GC Compound opened and asked me to be on the GC compound team. It's an awesome indoor skatepark with box jumps, three massive foam pits and a sweet mini ramp. Best place on the coast to keep up your tricks.

I've been lucky enough to be riding with Greg Phillips, Chance Brejnakowski, Khiel Hadfield and Logan Martin. I have recently moved out of home with my girlfriend and I'm loving it. It's great to be out on your own.

Regards,

-Kyle Baldock
