Andy Buckworth is on a mission. We're glad he's on the Mirraco program because if you haven't heard of him yet, you will. Andy is back in the USA for a while and we caught up with him to see what he's been up to.
You're one of those lucky guys to enjoy two summers per year. What did you all do when you went back to Australia?
You're one of those lucky guys to enjoy two summers per year. What did you all do when you went back to Australia?
Andy: I just rode my bike as much as I could with my friends back home and on the hotter days I went to the beach or chilled in my pool
How's the scene in Australia at the moment? Do you believe it's growing?
Andy: Hahahaha, the scene is scooters. A lot of the young bmx riders have made the switch to scooters. NOT COOL.
Australia has loads of public concrete parks. Are they still building new ones?
Andy: YEAH, it's crazy. Instead of making 2 or 3 really good parks they make a hole lot of little parks in every town.
What park is local to you back home and who do you ride with?
Andy: Local parks are Slam Factory indoor and Wadalba outdoor. That's where I ride with my mates
Luke Bowerman, Danny, Bryan, Tom Glue, Amen, Danny C and a lot more.
Andy: They had a big mega ramp style jump set up so we could get some practice in for the upcoming Nitro Live shows in Australia.
You pulled a double front flip on a big ramp. How long had you been thinking about that one?
Andy: Well to me it was just a joke trick in the pit. I never planned on doing it but after a week of playing on the Nitro jump I knew if I was ever going to do it, it was going to be there.
When is the Nitro Circus Tour going to start and where will it take you?
Andy: We all fly out to Australia at the end of April so the shows will start early May.
You're at Woodward camp now. Got any new tricks you're working on?
Andy: Not really right now. I'm just trying to get used to all the ramps again but I have been working on a few front flip tricks.
Did you set any goals for yourself for 2010?
